OECD estimates suggest South Africa could do more to reform its insolvency regime. The OECD argue that ‘design features of insolvency regimes that inhibit corporate restructuring can hamper productivity growth’ and that ‘productivity gains from lowering barriers to efficient corporate restructuring increase with a sector’s intangible asset intensity’.
