This post compares average wages at the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), South African Reserve Bank (SARB), South African National Treasury and Statistics South Africa. The average employee cost at the PIC has grown faster than at the SARB , NT or Stats SA and is also higher in level terms. Having started off at similar levels in the early 2000s, the average total package reported for 2024/25 at the PIC was around R1.7 million, compared to around R1.5 million at SARB and slightly more than R600 000 at National Treasury and Statistics South Africa.
