Term to maturity of NT issuance

Treasury has tended to issue debt at relatively longer maturities compared to other major emerging markets. However, South Africa’s yield curve remains steep, making long-term borrowing particularly costly. In response, Treasury has reduced the average maturity of its debt over the past few years to mitigate these high borrowing costs.
