South Africa 2000 vs 2023

How has South Africa done since 2000? In today’s post we look at changes in unemployment, GDP per capita and the tax burden. Unemployment and the tax burden have risen. GDP per capita has risen around 20% in purchasing power (PPP) terms, although real incomes have diverged from the global average given the decline in South African GDP per capita over the last couple of years.
