Since new trade tariffs on South African imports to the US came into effect in August 2025, exports to the US were up just over than 11% in nominal terms over the corresponding period a year earlier, reflecting big increases in March and April 2026. Exports to other countries were up just over than 8%. It is important to note that the figures are not adjusted for inflation.
