March 2026 saw a large spike in South African exports. Since new trade tariffs on South African imports to the US came into effect in August 2025, exports to the US were up just less than 10% in nominal terms over the corresponding period a year earlier. Exports to other countries were up just over than 6%. It is important to note that the figures are not adjusted for inflation.
