Today’s post by Jason Vermaak and Johan Hanekom shows the Top 20 South African wines rated on Vivino based on their value for money above R400 per bottle. The figure is ordered counterclockwise, with the De Toren Private Cellar Fusion 2019 the top value for money red wine and the Jordan Nine Years Chardonnay the highest value for money white wine. The length of the line of the wines listed show their per bottle price.
In this earlier post we uncorked a global comparison of value for money of wines listed on Vivino. Per US dollar spent, South African wines offer relatively high value for money. However, Lebanon and Croatia offer higher average wine ratings when wine prices are expressed in common currency.
