SA Exports to US and rest

Since new trade tariffs on South African imports to the US came into effect in August 2025, exports to the US were up just over than 11% in nominal terms over the corresponding period a year earlier, reflecting big increases in March and April 2026. Exports to other countries were up just over than 8%. It is important to note that the figures are not adjusted for inflation.

The second chart shows that the recent spikes reflect jewelry and vehicle exports.
