Major US Ports were affected by a 46 hour labour union strike in early October. Between 1 and 3 October 2024, port volumes across all affected ports were down 42% compared to the same days in 2023 (59% on 2 October). The chart below shows recent shipping volumes at only the most significant trading ports.
