South Africa’s unemployment rate

South Africa’s unemployment rate is over 35 percent, the highest level since the QLFS was first published in 2008. The expanded unemployment rate, which includes discouraged work seekers and those not actively looking for work, is at over 46 percent. Among 15 to 24-year-olds the expanded unemployment rate is at a staggering 75 percent.
