A new report from XA Global Trade Advisors shows that over 80% of import duty investigations are older than 6 months (against a target of four months for an industry in distress and six months for a normal application), with a median period of open cases exceeding 15 months. This reflects increase in the time taken by International Trade Administration Commission (Itac).
In an earlier post, we summarised the last XA report that showed that 93% of current duties have been in place for more than 20 years and have never been reviewed in that period.
