According to the IMF, the Netherlands is South Africa’s most important bilateral partner for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), representing 45% of South African FDI positions in other countries and 35% of FDI positions in South Africa. South Africa’s second largest partner is the UK, representing about 25% of FDI inflows and about 9% of outflows.
