Today’s post by Jason Vermaak and Johan Hanekom shows that for Australia several wine varietals have high median price and high median rating on Vivino, including Grenache Rosé, Pinot Gris / Grigio, Sparkling Wine, Syrah / Shiraz. Riesling and Malbec stands out as the lowest price-ratings category. For New Zealand, on the other hand, Bordeaux Red, tend to have the highest price and highest median rating on Vivino, while Rose stands out as the lowest price-ratings category.
In this earlier post we uncorked a global comparison of value for money of wines listed on Vivino. Per US dollar spent, South African wines offer relatively high value for money. However, Lebanon and Croatia offer higher average wine ratings when wine prices are expressed in common currency.
