Rhino poaching in SA

Poaching has decimated South Africa’s rhino population. We estimate that about 10000 rhinos have been poached since 2006. As time series of rhino populations are not published it is difficult to assess the proportion of rhinos that have been poached. Available estimates show that the Kruger National Park’s rhino population has declined by 75% for white rhinos since 2011 and 51% for black rhino since 2013.
