Resource rents and share of manufacturing in Africa

According to estimates from the World Bank, natural resource rents represented almost 7.5% of South Africa’s GDP in 2021. South Africa’s share of manufacturing in output, at around 13% in 2021, is broadly comparable to the level for OECD economies.
