Today’s post shows the composition of the top contributors to municipal revenue and spending by province in South Africa. Service charges and transfers are the largest components of revenue, while wages are generally the largest expenditure components. We showed in an earlier post that no province spent more than 2% of the value of assets on maintenance and repair in 2019.
