Estimates from Productivity South Africa suggest that productivity has declined dramatically since 2010. At industry level, the only exception is the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing industry. Since productivity is a key determinant of a country’s per capita income over the long term, South Africa’s poor productivity performance over recent history is very concerning.
