Government productivity vs labour costs in SA

Productivity South Africa’s estimates show that real wages and unit labour costs grew faster than labour productivity in the government sector since 2000.

It is difficult to measure the value of government sector output and inputs, so there are likely very large uncertainty bands around estimates of government sector productivity.
