Data from the Association for Savings and Investment South Africa (ASISA) show that cumulative investment flows over the last decade have been largest for South African Multi-Asset, Bond and Money Market funds. Accumulated inflows and investment returns have seen strong increases in holdings in South African equity funds over the last decade, although the largest increases have been for funds with significant foreign exposure. This has reflected the relatively attractive foreign returns given the slow growth of the South African economy and the depreciation of the rand. ASISA data is now available in EconData.
